Default Doing My Own Hosting

hi, i'm new here....i have a question and hope that anyone can provide me an answer. i want to build a website and host the site myself, can anyone tell me how i would go about doing that?

Buy hosting from someone, like me! You can PM me if you want for hosting. Build the site by getting a domain and learning HTML.

must likely you do not have a static domain, so www.no-ip.com can help.

2nd. You need a server, I use an old pentium 2 running fedora core 3. search google for information about configuring a linux server.

There are programs that will make webpages for you, I have never like them much so I just stick to html. whatever you feel comfortable with. Also, you might want to learn a language like perl for dynamic content.
