    Hi there Matty.

Yes, you can use the 54Mbps wireless adapter with the 300Mbps router and the link will be 54Mbps.

As for the drivers, it should be available on the CD, but your best bet is to download the latest version as the model printed on the device that goes with your operating system. You can do that with the laptop and move it with a storage device like a flashdisk, or temporarily use a network cable. Go through this page:
Belkin : Support F5D7050 Wireless G USB Network Adapter - Drivers
Hopefully your system is supported with the version of the wireless device you have.

A further request for assistance. I have now decided upon a permanent internet connection at home, With a wireless router from the telephone company. My laptop has a wireless capability, but my desktop computers need to use wireless network adaptors. I have a Belkin Wireless Network Adaptor F5D7050 54 Mbps which I have taken from storage. CD-ROM - QIG (Quick Installation Guide) and Manual for this device. However, I have not been able to install the device onto either of desktop computers.
Firstly, my wireless router from the telephone company operates at a rate of 300 Mbps, but I can use the Belkin device - YES / NO ?
Secondly, I have not been able to install the drivers for this device. Should the drivers or installation software be on the CD-ROM QIG & Manual or is it elsewhere - YES / NO ?
Can you help or suggest an alternative location for assistance.
