xp windows updates have crashed computer

last night we had a heap of updates and today I can only get the computer to come up with things like start at last operating position or safe start etc but no matter what I do it just restarts over and over again.
I tried the windows disc but it starts to fix but nothing happens

I would do a reinstall of XP..

Try installing Windows 7...

I have xp do not have Windows 7
