the drivers from the manufacturer will be vista drivers, not xp. HP and Compaq don't even list xp drivers on there site for new computer, I'm sure other manufacturers are doing the same.

How bigs your laptop HDD? why don't you partition it put XP on the partition and dual boot, at least that way you keep Vista as well.

I actually don't know how to partition and dual boot. The HDD is 80gb. What devices would I need drivers for? Where could I get them? And how would I find out the make and model of the components?
I'm really crap at computers!

go to isohunt.org and download TinyXP Platinum 2. 699MB and runs fine.

free too.
