XP home Sound Drivers

Hi a friend contacted me concerning her sound on her PC from what I can gather her sound drivers have become corrupt so do I need to go to Microsoft or Realtek to fing a link were she can download these drivers ?, any help advice appreciated

First thing I would do is let windows search (including windows updates). If that doesn't work check the PC manufacturer's website.

If that doesn't work download something like Everest Home Edition which should tell you what type of sound card / chipset the computer has and then it's a case of intelligent and sensible googling to find them.

See about rolling back the drivers. If not, you can go to the manufacturer's web site.

By manufacturer, I mean either the PC manufacturer if it's a prebuilt or the motherboard's manufacturer.
