Question WMP vs VLC Player

Which of the two > Windows Media Player or VLC Player uses the least resources, hard drive space, CPU and so on...? Noticed that WMP creates a library of all the music on the hard drive, well, I really don't want that done becuz I'm alredi using iTunes, and do prefer iTunes with my iPod. Does VLC create a library of music?
Thanks!

I think that VLC will suite your demands, never heard about creating library by them
