wmp on vista

I just bought a dell e1505 laptop with vista home premium, when i play music and hit for the next button to go to the next song says media changing then it takes a good20-30 sec to go to the next song and even opening music takes a while to play. ANy help?

I got a dell 6400 on it with 1 gig of ram.

!!!!ANSWER 2 YOUR QUESTION!!!!!!! Vista is slow! nothing you can do about it except buy more ram or turn off aero graphics.

Actually that would probably make a difference.

Vista isn't slow...at least for me.

That doesn't seem like too bad of a laptop for it to be going that slow...
