Default Windowz 2003 server

Hey ALL,

I am new here and i have a question.

I bought a copy of windowz server 2003. I want to use it as a domain server.(U know have it check the passwords before letting a user log on to the netowrk)

Can anyone tell me how to do this???

Help is much appreciated!!!

ok... here goes...

once you have the base build of the server, install a dns server. make this the primary server for your domain something like birdbrain.local will be great, whilst you can use co.uk and .com domains, I advise you don't since this can cause problems...

once the dns server is installed use the run menu to launch

dcpromo

this will begni the process of updating the server from a standalone server to an active directory server...

the wizard will guide you through the rest.
