Default windows xp will not install

I have tried to run windows xp over existing version but come up with conflicting problem due to go-back being installed , i have tried uninstalling via install and remove and also by norton systen works but it doesnt work, also tried system restore but go-back is resulting in an inability to correct any issues i have. How do i get this thing off and would deleting the register help?

So you can have one copy of windows xp and then use it on more than one computer? I though it was a limit * one per computer *? How do they know if you use it more than once?

It is never a good idea to install an OS on top of the same OS... You will make it worse... Instead, install it on a separate partition - just make sure you edit the boot.ini to distiguish the partitions.
