Default Windows XP Key

I am wondering if a Windows XP Corporate Key will work off a regular windows xp pro cd, or do you need a special CD to use the number?

Reason I ask, at the university I am at, we do not like how they have set up I do not like how they have the comptuer set up. I know the product key they use, but need to know if I can use my own win xp pro cd with their number to reinstall, that way it stays legal if I use their key.

Thanks.

It probably will work, but most licenses (like the school's) have a set number of windows that can run on that license. It won't stop you from being able to install it, it'll just be an illegal copy IF your school has already installed their limit. check with them and find out.

Corporate keys work with Volume License CD's not individual Retail or OEM cd versions.
