Windows XP Issues

Hey Envy,

Yeah, if it's a lightning strike, then I would assume that a file is corrupted. (I still haven't been able to determine which file it is.) But frankly, pick a number between 1 and 306,000. Trying to narrow it down. I'm going to try to massage the registry a bit deeper.

I'll pick. I took the easy way out by doing a Repair Install of Windows XP over my current version. Fixed the problem. Just had to reinstall Firefox. All my other data was secure.

So doing a repair install didn't wipe out all your applications? Or do you mean you had backups of your stuff and none of that was corrupt?

The sfc command is like a repair install, though the repair install is a little better.
