Default windows xp gearbox??? eh?!

yo, my friend was trying to be clever doing some reg editing and accidently deleted his gearbox, and he came to me for help. personally i have never even heard of a gearbox before! but he says that every time he tried to make a shortcut it says, gearbox not installed. I tried on microsoft's download section for gearbox and gear box but nothing even comes up! and i tried on download.com and searching around on google for gearbox but nothing even comes up...

has anyone even heard of a gearbox before?!

any idea where there might be a download?

i don't think i'v ever heard of it....but is it in the add/remove programs list in the control panel.

you might be able to do a SFC..(system file checker)

if you do decide you would like to auto fix it, this would be the way to go.

just click run / type in sfc & hit enter...follow the directions carefully.

just a caution to those who have win.98-se, and you use this function...make shure you turn off your anti-virus 1st. if it changes your boot-records, and asks you do you want to save changes ..say no !!
