Default windows.old

I need to delete it.... I tried changing permissions, disk clean up, safe mode... didn't work.

How can I delete the folder? Its taking up too much valuable space.

Due to insufficient information I am taking for granted you mean the windows.old folder generated when installing windows vista?

Please see here: Link

Apparently it can also be generated with windows 7.

If the first link does not help you, this one has pictures: Link

what's the error message that you get whilst trying to delete it?

is the trouble that the windows folders have ownership assigned to a different user than the account that you're trying to use?

you can see this by right clicking on the folder and looking at the permissions, it could be that you only have read permissions on the folder, you'll need to assign yourself new permissions to the folder and tell it to apply the permissions to all files and subfolders as well...

if you;re not the file owner then you're going to need to take ownership of the files and subfolders as well.

It says I need permission from SYSTEM. My computer only has 1 account. When I try changing permissions, it says "Access denied". :\
