Windows not working

Hello!

I need some help, My computer has recently stopped working. It boots up, launches gives me the option to launch startup repair or start windows normallu, either way it tried to launch startup repair but just turns black and doesn't do anything. I don't have a Windows CD I can use just wondering if there is any other way? Oh and if possible I would like to keep my old files.

isn't there any code or text that gives some information about the problem?

it will be no problem to keep your files. just install the harddrive in another computer and backup the files that you want to keep.

The software is corrupt and damage...u need to re-install the software again...or u can try to do a system restore if it lets u http://www.theitcourse.com

can you not go into safe mode with command prompt?

just press f8 when you switch your computer on, wait 10seconds after you switch it on then press f8 a few times

Also, be sure to listen to your system. Does it make any strange noises on startup. The type of startup issue you're having sometimes shows up when a hard drive starts to fail.
