Question Windows Media Player 12 plays movie in fast forward for some strange reason

I just ripped a blu-ray movie to my computer in .mkv format. I try to play it in Windows Media Player and it plays in fast forward for some reason and I can't slow it down. It never did this before and I never messed around with the codecs. Is the video corrupted? Why is it doing this?

The only thing that comes to mind, is the ability WMP has to slow down and speed up the speeds of audio/video, so when viewing the video, right click and check out the Enhancements; you may have accidentally changed these, or perhaps a keyboard shortcut did it. TBH, though... I strongly recommend you use SMPlayer as it is substantially superior to WMP; as much as I love WMP, it doesn't compare, when it comes to videos.
