Default windows live movie maker to edit WTV files

using windows live movie maker to edit WTV files.

I would like to edit WTV ( W7MC recorded TV)

This what I've done
in properties of WTV file change to wlmp file
then use WLMM to split (edited portion of video).

is WLMM used to edit video only capable
of playback after burning to a DVD because I can't playback the edited wlmp file on W7MC
can playback w/ WLMM however it's a very small window.
Thanks for any tips on editing WTV files
STB

Donít really understand this. But have you tried converting it to a different format?
