Default Windows App Start-up Help.

I am having a problem with my pc on start up. When I start up, my applications don't load automatically anymore, and if i click on an icon, it goes transparent, and doesn't open, it will only open if i right click, and open. Also i can uninstall some apps like MSN, it says something about being in Safe mode, but i checked and im not in safe mode. Also apps are acting weird, I tunes says it cant recognize my ipod, and my quick launch menu always disappears when i restart. Can someone please help me. Thank you.
-Steven.

Have you downloaded any software lately? I would recommend that you run a virus and spyware scan and see what you come up with.

I always download music, video ect...I ran Ad-Aware, and it came up with some sypware and i deleted it, but I still have the same problem with the icons, they don't open when i click them. I also try to re-install itunes, and it says it wont work under safe mode, but im pretty sure im not in safe mode. Im gonna run a virus scan now..

make sure you arnt in safe mode lol. its still a possibility after all.
anyway if thats not the case then it sounds very virus riddled. if you arnt too good with pc's then id just re install windows if possible. (saves cleaning the registry, etc, as a reinstall is easy). its always good to reformat sometimes. if not do a virus, adware check, and download: hijack this, ccleaner, etc.

I may have to bring it in to a repair shop, is their a way of possibly fixing this problem without having to format? to save my files.. I just finished a full system scan and no virus or threats were found at all, it was clean....

try ccleaner, and hijack this.
they focus on the registry, which is a key area of any windows os
