Default Windows 8.1 New Hardware Requirements

Has anyone that Microsoft has made it so on Windows 8.1 that it won't support old processors such AMD Athlon 64 X2 and Intel Core 2 Quad which only apply's to 64bit hardware at the moment New Windows 8.1 requirements strand some users on Windows 8 | PCWorld.

This has been their plan since Windows 8 was announced in 2009. They planned to remove support for 32 bit, and add support for 128 bit. Looks like we'll have to wait on the 128 bit support in Windows 9 though.
