Default Windows 7 worth it for my PC?

Folks,
Forgive me if this is a repeat from someone else's post. Here is my old system:
Dell 4600
Pentium IV (2.8Ghz)
4GB ram
Geforce 9400 GT video card
DSL
2 internal HDD
1 DVD RW
1 CD RW
Windows XP

Is it worth it for me to upgrade to Windows 7 and Office 2007? Should I stick with XP until such time as I buy/build a newer system?

While Windows 7 will run fine on your system, if you're already contemplating building/buying a new system soon then why spend the money on a system that's getting replaced? That's just me. I'm extremely cheap...

Stick to XP.

Don't spend a fortune for something that won't make anything better.
