Hi, I have downloaded the Windows 7 .iso file from the link below (which I swear is the microsoft Windows 7 page)

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx

I was just curious, will the installation disk only work if it's a DVD, or can you use a CD? I only have a CD-RW at my disposal as of right now, just curious if i'm wasting my time buring the image to a CD if it requires a DVD to install.

thanks for the help in advance.

Mate, look at the size of the .iso, now look at the capacity of a CD

3GB onto 700MB, mmmmmmmmm, could be a problem do you think?

:D

I will not that using a vm with windows 7 makes your HD spin too much. I also noticed some RAM issues with it as well. you cannot use aero or much of features with windows 7 in VM or using mobile platforms. you cannot install to P4 based systems without a headache if you plan on reviing your basement computer. do not run on systems with an a-bit mobo. cannot find chipset drivers.

That's actually the 7 home page seen at the link there. If you have a second partition for 7 to go on already and a usb flash drive 4gb or larger you can make that bootable and as long as your board can boot from usb drives see 7 installed. Another tool is the Virtual CloneDrive that sees a virtual dvd drive created in order to mount the iso image when you lack the correct optical drive. http://virtual-clonedrive.en.softonic.com/
