Is it possible to buy Windows 7 starter or what is the cheapest version of windows 7 you can buy?

No Windows 7 starter and versions like cannot be purchased at any retail store, Your first option is home premium..

Have a look online at your nearest tech business and see if they sell it or just go in store and ask..

If you are a student and your school system is partisipating, You can buy windows and other products for dirt cheap prices. Like win7 ultimate for 30 US dollars. I think you could swing that.

IF you have a key for ultimate, you would need to buy ultimate because license keys are matched up to the SKU.
