Unhappy Windows 2000 advanced server

Hey... im having problems... how can i make a domain in windows server 2000 advanced? I knew i did it before but i cant figure out how to do it again... i have a home server and i need all the comps to login from that main server... can anyone shed some light on me?

Advanced as in Active Directory? If thats what you mean you can click start, then run, then type dcpromo

but it asks for a DNS name... could i put anything? or a network name i want?

It depends if you want to be able to connect to your ISP for internet access. I believe you will have to use your ISP DNS Server to connect to the internet. I have never tried to configure server to connect to my ISP but I will mess around with it and get back to you on how to do it. Be careful with active directory once you install it, it will lock in your TCP/IP configurations and if you make a mistake you will have to uninstall it all again. well i got the network to reconise... the server takes about 6 minutes to boot up fully.. so yeah lol
