Will my laptop run Vista Basic?

Ok,My Full Specs are......

1.6Ghz P4-M
512mb DDR
Ati Radeon 7000 16mb
30gb hdd

Could this run Vista Home Basic?

If you have a DVD drive then ya it should.

RAM
Video Card


But,that is for Vista Home Premium,So does that still mean i can run it?

I Think i will because i wont be using aero and if i cut it down with Vista Lite Tool i will be able to run it with 512mb RAM.

The recommended requirements I posted are for basic, have a look here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/systemrequirements.mspx

And remember those are the recommended specs, the minimum is lower, except for the memory.

* 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of system memory
* 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space

Ok,So I'm gonna Put another 512mb into my laptop and than dual boot XP and Vista Home Basic.

I really think you should just build a new computer.
1.6Ghz P4-M -> 2.5 ghz + dual core
512mb DDR -> 1gb would be decent
Ati Radeon 7000 16mb -> atleast 256mb
30gb hdd -> for your entertainment needs around 90

Its for my laptop,I Only want it for Word Processing/Internet use.
