I have a Ubuntu installation on a box that is just strictly for my file storage. I leave it on all night and day just because I want to access it where ever and whenever. My issue is for some reason it locks up around 3 AM. I don't why it locks up but it doesn't make any sense. I have one thing run from cron at 2 AM and that is a clamscan. The scan usually take about 10 minutes and everything is normal. When it freezes or locks up, I usaully have to do a hard reset and everything is just fine untill it repeats the entire process.

I have checked for rootkits and there is nothing either. I have ran a fsck, and it came back clean, as well as the memtest.

I just need some help trying to figure what to do next because I am all out ideas on troubleshooting..

I fixed it. For some reason it was not unmounting my LVM correctly and it was cause a kernel panic. I just change some of the identities in the fstab file and it fixed it
