Default Re: What is Physical layer of OSI model?

'What is'

the OSI model is theoretical, it just goes some way to explaining how networking works.

The physical layer is at the bottom of the model (Layer 1) and comes underneath the Ethernet layer (Layer 2)

the physical layer represents physical connections and physical mediums that don't use any other protocols, cabling; repeaters, hubs and such.
