Question What OS?

I'm currently using a Canon INNOVA BOOK 350CD (486 laptop)

Current Specs:

100 MHz Cyrix 5x86 socket 3 CPU

24Mb 72pin SODIMM

Chips & Technologies F65545 Rev. 2

Sound Blaster 16 or AWE-32/compatable

3.5" Floppy Drive (Removable)

8x CD-ROM Dive (Removable)

Intel 9600 Fax modem

I have 3 different hard drives for it, since I can only use 1 at time each drive has its own OS.

3.4 GB - Windows 98SE

1.0 GB - Windows NT 4.0 Server

125Mb - MS-DOS 6.22 & Windows 3.11

Since Windows NT 4.0 Server and Windows 98SE are basically the same (to me anyway) I would like to replace NT 4.0 with a version of Linux, but what version?

I would like a version that doesnt use a ton of HD space and will work pretty good, that means no 286 versions lol. (Or any version thatís real old.)

Any suggestions?

Ubuntu Linux takes 128mb RAM
1.8GB of HDD space.

So unless you say good bye to 98 that is unpractical.

You might be able to run a minimal Slackware install on that heffer.

But what's the point? The thing's so old it's basically useless.

Yeah with my current amout of ram thats impossable.

I dont understand linux enough to use a text mode version

I might? I'm looking for a more defotane answer lol.

I'm already using Windows 98SE on one of the hard drives now so why would I want to use Windows 95 also? Thats what I was looking for but I dont want a version so old that there wont be much software for it.
