Default Want to go Linux

I've heard a lot of good things about linux so i decided to give it try. I've been told to start with ubuntu. Is that good? What distros do you guys use. What makes each one different from each other. I'm pretty new to all this fancy stuff so all help is nice.

It Wont slow down your computer, and when you install linux,it will configure a boot loader,so you can choose what opertating system you want to use everytime your computer boots.

Yes. When your computer boots up, it'll ask you whether you'd like to go to Windows or Linux.

For a first time Linux user, I recommend Ubuntu. It's very easy to use, and the transition from XP isn't hard:
