VNC to create multiple monitors

Is there a way to use VNC so my iBook can be used as an extra monitor? i found a program that does something similar, called maxivista, but the mac version seems to be vaporware.

all synergy does is allow te mouse and keyboard to be used on multiple computers. I want to use VNC to use my laptop as a fifth monitor.

It's mac only. the best it could do is let me use my desktop's screens with the iBook. Either way, i tried installing it a while back and it crashed my OS so i had to restore.

The reason I need this is so i can put flight sim instruments on it instead of on the main screens.

Oh, I see. So you've got a mac machine, and a windows machine, and you want to extend the windows machine's display to the mac machine?

It doesn't work with Vista or Windows 7, but you can just use a standard VNC Viewer on the mac machine... in theory

Edit2: It turns out that W7 is semi-supported, but you've got to disable driver signing or something. It's all on that page.

Dammit. I would have to use XP drivers. That means no more eyefinity, which kinda defeats the purpose of it.
