Default Vista putting drives to sleep

I put in a secondary drive for storage. 200gig IDE

so the 1st thing I notice is the drive is CONSTANTLY being turned off. I changed the settings to NEVER turn the disks off, and changed the power plan to HIGH PERFORMANCE.

if i hear this disk turn on and off one more time im going to scream! NO matter what I do the disk goes to sleep at some randomly choosen intervel.

Sounds like the disk is possessed. Give it to me and I'll fix it.

well if anyone else runs across this, you need to go into power settings and set your hard drive value to 0. which will turn it to NEVER. Seems that a patch that went out screwed somthing up where that minute value is not SECONDS.
