Default Vista 32 vs 64 bit cost

Quick question, why does 64 bit vista cost 10 bucks more on newegg than 32 bit (both OEM)? I thought the serials would work in either 32 oe 64 bit.

Example

64 bit http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...16832116488CVF

The versions that you gave links to are OEM builder versions. If you need support you have to contact the computer builder (yourself.) If you purchase the "Boxed" version from Microsoft, it with come with 32 and 64 bit versions and you can call Microsoft for support.

[edit] To answer your question: the 64 bit version is more capable.

Actually it has nothing to do with capability but the pricing by individual vendors for different items. While newegg has the 64bit marked up $10 more over the 32bit oem SP1 dvd TigerDirect shows the 32bit marked up $5-$6 higher then the 64bit oem!

Since the oem disks are sold separately for each flavor the vendor will often keep one up or mark one down a bit in order to see it sell. Newegg likely saw the $10 difference due to the 64bit being more of a hot seller with little activity for the 32bit especially with 7 on the way now.
