Default Using Shortcut for Default Media Location

I've come upon a bit of a problem; I'd like to stream my movies I have on my server through my Samsung HT-F4500 blu-ray as it gives the option to change sources. It defaults to the normal Windows XP My Documents folder, but I've got all my media on an external hard drive. I've attempted to do a shortcut in the 'Videos' folder, but did not work.

Is there anyway I can have a shortcut, or something along those lines, default to the external drive?

-I cannot move the media to the tower's drives as they are too small to handle everything.
-I cannot change the default directory of the blu-ray player
-If I want to watch something from the server I have to change the file format as the blu-ray only likes MP4 and will not play anything else; most everything is in AVI.
