Default Re: USB2 without SP2

In my Google research on why my OS was not recognizing my USB 2.0 hardware, I found that many motherboard manufacturers were not offering drivers for Windows XP, even though they did include drivers for 98 and 2000 in many cases. That was the case for my motherboard. Its instructions said, for 98 install this file... for Windows XP, install SP1. I didn't want SP1 or SP2, so that's when my search began.

I didn't expect to have people visiting here and saying "I don't have a problem with my USB2" as if my problem and solution were unfounded. That is not the case in the least. I posted this in hopes of pointing some people in the right direction who are having the same problem I was having. For those who have working USB 2.0, congratulations, and I give you permission not to participate in this topic if you simply want to say "Mine works fine".
