Ubuntu 7.10 AWN manager not launching

hi,
i am running linux ubuntu 7.10 right now and i just tried to install the avant window navagator. everything appeared to install correctly but when i try to launch the avant manager from the system menu (system > preferences > AWN Manager) nothing happens. it doesnt try to load anything at all.

im not sure how to fix it!!

I think the best suggestion would be give the Ubuntu forums a search, because it might be a common issue.
