which is better?:anisotropic, bilinear, or trilinear.

It gets rid of the jagged edges you see on chain-linked fences and stuff. It just makes things look smoother.

Yeah, as in the Hardware and Software thread, I concluded that Antistropic filtering tended to look better, especially when in the highest setting.

Also, when increasing the AF you don't lose as much performance as with AA.

Agreed. Anisotropic filtering is the best as it provides the most clarity in the rendering.
