Default Taskbar Sound Windows XP

I can't get windows sound mixer icon into my taskbar. I have it set to load up the sound mixer in the task bar, from the control panel. What do I do now?

BTW I have SP 2.

If you mean that little arrow that you press that shows the rest of the icons in the system tray then no, thats not the problem.

Hmmm... that is weird. I didn't even know you could turn it off; sound still works though?

Control panel - sounds and multimedia

should be a little box saying "show icon in taskbar" at the bottom.
