Default svchost.exe lsass.exe

My neighbor called me over to fix her computer again saying its running very slowly. Well I looked in the processes in the task manager and noticed System Idle Process was running high even while I was trying to do things on the computer I also noticed multiple svchost.exe processes and lsass.exe. I tried to remove svchost.exe in safe mode command prompt and it showed "access denied". I ran the windows MRT and spysweeper antivirus and nothing showed up. I'm not sure what to do next.

svchost.exe hosts the Remote Procedure Call Server Service and lsass.exe (Local Security Authority Service) are normal.

I'm not sure what else would be causing the system idle process to run so high.

Have you run Msconfig and disabled all startup programs and various services?

I'm going to do that later today, hopefully it'll solve the problem, this lady is always bugging me about her computer.

I disabled windows messenger at start up and it seemed to fix the problem.
