Default Steam issues

okay, so I have Team Fortress 2 and steam, new to it..

If I have steam running and try to open TF2, i get the error "no permissions to run tf". Try running in administrator mode, no luck.

Now, If i run TF2, THEN go back and open steam, STEAM says theres an error and to reinstall.
How can i get these two programs to run seamlessly with eachother?

Running Windows 7 if that matters

Hi,

Try right clicking on TF2, then go to properties and verify the game cache.

Cheers!

Restart your computer, run Steam as admin, if that doesn't work use google, lots of people have this problem for lots of different reasons.

Are you running steam in admin mode or the exe? If not the exe, it will be in the steam folder in Program files. Run that in Admin mode.
