I notice my computer just sitting uses around 7% cpu usage. but when i use the computers at school they sit at 0% i am running windows 7 and there computers run xp so obviously Desktop manager needs a few recources . But the issue is that the "sytem process" pops on and off using around 6 % of the cpu. I have no clue how to find what part of the system is using that any ideas on how to find out?

This isn't anything to worry about - background processes will pop up from time to time and use bits of the CPU, it's perfectly normal. If you're still paranoid, do a full scan to put your mind at ease - but the quick answer is no, it's not a requirement to get it down to 0.

It's quite normal CPU usage above 0. The OS uses some of it to keep the system running, even when your not using it. No need to worry at all
