I have over 1000 songs on my old laptop (Vista) and I've now got a new laptop (Windows 7) and I want to transfer them to this. My old laptop doesn't recognise memory sticks (I don't know why, as it accepts my iPod cable, and printer cable) so I can't send songs this way.

I've been messing around and trying to share the files by looking for the Public file in the Network thing, and making sure shared files is on, on both laptops but I'm having no luck. I then used an ethernet cable and couldn't figure it out that way either.

Anybody have some sorta 'simple' instructions, I know a bit about computers so I'm used to a bit of technology vocab, but not too much.

Any help or suggestions would be greatful!

Sorry if this is in the wrong section too.

That'd work, but take a lot of disks (potentially).

If the old computer can still connect to a network, you can use the built in files and settings transfer wizard. Follow the directions on the windows 7 client, it should give you a link for the client to download and install on the vista machine. This might be slower than burning to a disk, but a lot less involved once it's running.
