That's true, but the diagram on the drive should also show that, just to be drive-specific.

1. it should be a slave
2.is this raid or SCSI? are drivers installed if neccesarry
3.is it partitioned?
4.does it have a file system? (FAT32, NTFS)
if it isnt FAT32 or NTFS windows wont recognize it and it wont show up
