Screen switches off??

Please can anyone help??

I've only had my Toshiba laptop a few months, and the screen is switching off when I put the top down and leave it for a few minutes ... I don't mean it's going into "rest mode" or whatever they call it, I mean it's really dead and the only thing I can do is switch the laptop off completely and then reboot it

This is happening when I have a couple of internet tabs left open, if that helps??

You say this laptop is only a few months old. Is this a new laptop?

If so i would have the warranty fix this issue for you.

haven't you just set it to hibernation when the lid closes?
Go to control panel. Then click hardware and sound. Then click power options.
In the left column you should see "chose what happens when the lid closes"
Click that and change it to "Do nothing"
And now were you are at it. Change the time it takes for the laptop to go to sleepmode when not used.... if you wish.
