Alright say I have Windows XP Professional Retail with SP1 and I have a working serial number and my friend has the EXACT same version will my serial number work on his copy??

Yes it will work for both (i think) thats only if urs has been activated a while ago and if activation has been reset, (i think it happens every month or longer)
