Default Reformat Laptop Without Disk

I'm wondering if there is a way to reformat my Dell Laptop without a disk. I know that Dell usually has the "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" feature, but my laptop doesn't seem to have it.

It's a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista SP2.

If you don't have the recovery disk or the Vista SP2 disk, then the only other way to reformat would be with a valid boot/installation disk (or USB flash drive). This could be another version of Windows or some version of Linux if you're the adventurous type. Have you tried contacting Dell and asking them to send you the recovery disk?
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.
