Default recover console help

I started up my comuter this morning and i got an error that said ntoskrnl.exe file is corrupt or missing, ok. So i booted up into the recover console to fix the problem, and the only operating system the RC sees is something called MiniNT on the H drive. Now i am running windows xp home edition off of the C: drive. The H drive is one of the media reader slots, what the hell is going on. if you have any ideas, or any other methods of correcting the ntoskrnl problem let me know.

run a repair installation instead of the recovery console.
