I recently switched from suse 9.3 pro to debian/sarge, which i like, but the only thing i miss about suse is Kinternet, which provided a graphical way to view available wireless networks and easily switch from one to another. Kind of like winxp. I downloaded the rpm and used alien to change it to a deb packapge and it installed ok, it just wont run.
am i missing something? will kinternet only run on suse? when i try to run it nothing happens. is there another similar utility i can use?

You say this program won't run, what are the exact steps you take at attempting to start the program? Have you tried launching the application from the command line?

As root you might try this command, which grants everyone (user, group and other) execute permission:
Code:
chmod +x /path/to/exec/

well i have tried just typing kinternet at the command line, and clicking on the executable in usr/bin, but i have not tried the chmod, ill try that though, thanx
