I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to monitor processes. I need to be able to remotly watch and also if a process stops generate a report with some useful information to why it stoped. Or at least show the date and time it stopped.

Thanks

Edit:

Ok, if anyone knows how get a process to auto restart if stopped or it fails. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks again.

I would need to keep a process running on Windows XP and Windows 2000.

Edit:

Both Professional

Ok, Adding on. I have found a solution. Kinda. I am trying to make this application a service. I used the Microsoft resource kit to do so. After making it a service, I try to start the service and I get an error.

Services Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

The OS that I installed the service is XP PRO.
Any suggestions?

Usually when it say's that it did not respond in a timely fashion means that it needs another service started that it needs to run, try looking at all services

and look for one that relates to the program you are using and set it to automatic.Since you are using a remote, start with the services that are remote related.

look in the administative tools for the services..
