Default Problem formatting the disk?

Hello everyone!

I own a HP laptop, model nx6110 and I have a problem. I am trying to format the hard disk but the system won't boot the Windows CD so I can do the job.

I've set the boot priority to optical drive, but the thing won't work.

Can you please help me?

check your BIOS and see if youve got an "OS INSTALL MODE" or something to that effect... also check and see if your Optical disk drive is enabled

is it a burned disk, or is it authentic, because if it is burned it might have not been burned right, go to a computer that works and put the disk in the cd rom slot, or if it is a dvd rom, put it in the optical drive for a dvd, and let it load and see if a windows pops up.
