Playing pc games with xbox 360 users

Is there/ will there ever be a patch or program that will allow pc users such as I, to play a game with an xbox 360 user? Example: I get on a server of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and play against a friend with an xbox 360?

There are some games that allow this. If the game is a "Game for Windows Live" game, you can typically play with 360 players as well. COD: MW2 is not one of those games sadly.

Well MW2 on xbox 360 is all peer to peer based (Which probably explains why I get really bad pings while playing people in USA/Europe) while MW2 on PC is server client based, so I don't think it is possible

Yea becuase the game is all on the Windows Live server, so are Xbox 360 games. So you're essentially playing on the same server when you play Windows Live games. On the back of the game case though, it will say whether or not it's a game for Windows Live.
