Default photoshop help (layers arnt changing.

Im having trouble with photoshop with the layers i want to get the Layer 1 background as the transparent image and can not get the photo away how can i do this? i have taken a little video of what i am talking about.

to my understanding you want to delete the photo of the rather attractive girl? Your probably having problems because from what i can see in that short movie clip is that the layer is locked. to unlock it highlight the layer,then near the top of the layers window is what looks like a picture of a little lock. click that. that should toggle the layer lock off, and you will see that the picture of a lock next to the photo-layer has now dissapeared. drag the layer over the recycle bin at the bottom of the layers window to then delete it.

the lock feature is used to lock a layer so that you dont accidentally edit it. this way if you had like 20 layers, and their was one layer that you kept accidentally selecting, you could lock it so you wouldnt edit that one on accident
