Photo's

Guys,

Sorry guys but I wasn't sure which forum this should go in.

I'm interested in how you guys store your photo on your computer, currently I have over 100k (and about 30k still to be scanned) on a 2tb external HDD. I am trying to identify the photo's and put them into more appropriate folders, and in the cases of duplications I am getting rid of them, currently this is being done on my M11x (500GB Hdd 4 Gig ram) and honestly it is like death warmed up (dead slow- sorry about the pun) and I am having to wait up to 10 minutes before the computer refreshes after deleting a dozen or so.

I am using Irfanview as it is a handy program to make the minor adjustment that I may have to do to the photo's.

Any ideas, hints or suggestions

Thanks

P

I store my photos in various folders. However, if you are seeing refresh pauses. You may want to either use a faster hard drive or make sure the cluster size is appropriate. The smaller the cluster size the more often it needs to read the master file table.
